Oscar Issac Confirms Episode IX Will Be The End of The Skywalker Saga

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17587″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It has been reported more than a few times during the production of J.J. Abrams Star Wars IX that this film would be the conclusion of the Skywalker story. However, with so much discussion about Star Wars spinoffs and branch off stories for the Disney+ Streaming Service and other proposed films, it has been wondered if the Skywalker history might be revisited. In a recent interview with the Today Show, Oscar Issac, one of the stars of the film explained that this will indeed be the culmination of 40 years and nine different stories told.

It is the end of the entire Skywalker saga. Nine stories. This is the culmination of the entire thing. What [director] JJ [Abrams] has done, and the entire Lucasfilm team, is incredibly fulfilling. It’s also special for us because you get to learn a lot more things about these characters.

The one Skywalker who was missed the most during filming was the late Carrie Fisher who had passed away in 2016. To honor her life and her contribution to the Star Wars family, Episode IX will use previously unseen footage of the actress to incorporate Leia into the narrative. Issac described how emotional it was:

We’ve thought about her so much. Her spirit is there [in the film]. Her daughter, Billie Lourd, came back to play a part. Her spirit was there with us and we’re missing her.

Are you ready for the last chapter in the Skywalker Saga? Do you have high hopes for JJ Abrams to give to the fans a fitting and memorable conclusion? Share your thoughts as the film slowly make s it way toward its December’s premier with us at GVNation.
