While much of the details of the show remain in the planning stages, translated: “Their not going to tell you.” However, in a recent interview with Yahoo, he explained how the creative people at CBS were able to peak his interest enough to revisit the character he had pretty much given up on.

I agreed to a meeting with the people who were going to produce this new version of Star Trek only because I wanted to seriously and respectfully explain to them why I was turning the project down. I heard just enough to realize this was something very unusual, and I was intrigued. What I was afraid of was … this was going to be jokey, and I didn’t want to do that.’ I asked a lot of questions and the answers were all very satisfying.

Although Stewart was trying to be very careful about how much he revealed, he did say that instead of an episodic style, the show’s narrative will follow a more prolonged continuous story. In form it will be almost like a “10 hour movie.” His hopes are there will be multiple seasons which is pretty hopeful for a character he was “done” portraying.

How about it Star Trek fans? Are you excited to see what CBS does with the iconic Picard character? It must be pretty good for it to bring Patrick Stewart back to the fold. Share your hopes for the new series with us at GVNation.
