Pedro Pascal will be the lead and his role has been revealed to be a lone Mandalorian gunfighter who is in the outer reaches of the galaxy. Joining Pedro will be Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) and Nick Nolte (Affliction).
The synopsis for the show has also been revealed.
“The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic,”
According to Executive Producer Jon Favreau
“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to,”
The show is in production and is written by Jon Favreau. Dave Filoni will direct the first episode and also serve as EP. Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi are also all tapped to direct epsiodes. The series will debut in 2019 only on the Disney+ streaming app.
