Penny Dreadful Getting a Sequel Series, City of Angels

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9517″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While Penny Dreadful is one of those supernatural shows that fans enjoyed, it still was canceled, much to the chagrin of many. After three seasons, it seems like the horror series is getting a follow-up show, which will be called Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

The description is as follows:

“Set in 1938 Los Angeles, a time and place deeply infused with Mexican-American folklore and social tension. Rooted in the conflict between characters connected to the deity Santa Muerte and others allied with the Devil, the new series will explore a mix of the supernatural and the reality of the time period.”

At this time, it’s not confirmed if any of the original cast members will return, but John Logan, who was the creator, writer, and executive producer of the original series, will.

“We were so thrilled when John Logan came to us with this wildly original take on the Penny Dreadful mythology that explores both the human spirit and the spirit world here in California. Penny Dreadful: City of Angels promises to be an extraordinary saga of familial love set against the terrifying monsters that are around us and within us.” Gary Levine, the president of programming at Showtime stated.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels will jump forward a few decades and have social consciousness and historical awareness, something that was chosen not to be explored in the original series.

Let us know if you’re excited for Penny Dreadful: City of Angels or if you wanted a fourth season to the original Penny Dreadful!
