PS Plus Games and Best Deals For April 2019

We’re coming to the end of yet another month and so its time to look ahead to the future and see what goodies the month of April will have in store for us. Now, because of PS3’s and PSvita’s departure from PS Plus we once again only have 2 titles to show off but we also have an extra free game available this month for all players, even without a PS Plus subscription. There’s also some battle royal goodies to look through too so let’s not waste any more time.

Conan Exiles

First up is a fairly newer title being released not even 12 months ago. Conan Exiles. This is a survival game set in, you guessed it, the world of Conan: The Barbarian. After being rescued by Conan at the start of the game you are thrust into the world and must survive. You control not only how your character looks but also how they play. Being a survival game there’s plenty to keep and eye on with you having to manage your health, forced to hunt for food and, scavenge for supplies. In a world as dangerous as Conan Exiles thats not always an easy task so be prepared for a fight. There’s also building and crafting mechanics to master, a beautiful and varied map with everything from scorching deserts to frozen tundras and massive monsters to fight. What’s better than surviving all that by yourself? Surviving it with a friend of course and with the addition of co-op, Conan Exiles is made all the more fun. Will you be jumping into the world of Conan Exiles come April? let us know down below or over on Twitter.

The Surge

Ever wanted to know what Dark Souls in space would be like? Well, you may never know but this is about as close as you’re going to get. The Surge is hard, it’s grueling, it’s downright frustrating at times but therein lies its appeal. Dying takes away your progress so do you engage in a fight on the search for XP and loot but risk losing what you already have? Or do you back off and live to fight another day? Each fight becomes an intense encounter with one wrong move losing you huge amounts of progress. This game definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but its sci-fi setting may draw you in. Set in a universe where technology and evolution are almost one and the same you battle various enemies in a mech suit with a whole host of amazing looking weapons. There’s a story to be found in here too but if you’re just into the toughest of action you may appreciate the game’s mechanic to target certain body parts on your enemy and dismember them in brutal and awesome slow motion. Are you up for the challenge The Surge has to offer or are you looking for something a little more relaxed? Give us your thoughts.

Dauntless

Dauntless isn’t part of this month’s PS Plus roundup but it is a free game launching in April so we might as well check it out, right? Dauntless is an online-only RPG in which you are a “Slayer”. Pick the weapon you think suits you most and travel the map hunting down huge monsters. Each fantastical looking beast plays slightly differently so tactics do make a difference and if things get a little too heated you can always party up with your buddies and take the beasts down together. We all know playing with friends is way more fun. Defeating beasts grant you materials that you can then use to upgrade and change your weapons. Beating an ice creature will allow you to infuse your weapon with ice powers and so on. The game is already out on PC so if you’re interested you can check out some gameplay right now and us PS4, Xbox and, Switch owners will be getting it sometime in April. The official release date has still not been announced.

Battle Royal Bonuses

If you’re a fan of battle royal’s, more specifically Fortnite and H1Z1 then you’re in luck. There is a new skin and some back bling to get hold of in Fortnite and H1Z1 players can get their hands on a new bandit pack which includes all sorts of goodies from an AK47 to a new name card and a couple extra things.

PS Plus Deals

If you’re a PS Plus subscriber then there are some pretty sweet deals for you. Shadow of the Tomb Raider £25.24, The Last Guardian for £11.49, Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion is only £9.24 and Call of Cthulhu is available for £21.59. Might have to pick that one up myself.

March Madness

Despite the month coming to a close if you’re quick you can still snatch up some of the March Madness deals. The ones that caught my eye were Just Cause 4 for £26.99, Battlefield V Deluxe Edition for £29.99Bioshock: The Collection for £12.99 and, Hitman 2 for £29.99. There’s also some VR deals too with Borderlands 2 VR up for £24.99 and Skyrim VR for £19.99.

PlayStation Retro

If you fancy kicking it old-school there are some classics on sale right now as part of the Retro Playstation sale. Spyro: reignited Trilogy for £26.24, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for £19.99 and GTA: San Andreas for £6.19 all seem like pretty nice deals to me.

So that about does it for this wrap-up. Will you be giving Conan Exiles a try? Or is The Surge that nail-biting challenge you’ve been craving? Let us know down below or over on Twitter.
