Quibi Developing New Show ‘Clickbait’ Around Fake News and the 2016 Election

Quibi is looking to make a new series centering on how “fake news” impacted the 2016 American presidential election.

‘Clickbait’ is the working title for the Quibi show. The series will tell the true story of Macedonian teens who have made a small fortune creating “fake news” during the 2016 election. This show will explore the effect that the manipulation of news and the truth has on presidential elections and decision-making.

Matt Reeves will executive produce the show alongside Ruark. On top of that, Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk) will head the series as Niko. Niko is described as “a young man desperate to escape his circumstances. Who discovers that publishing fake news could be his golden ticket.”

Mark Molloy will direct and the series will be written by Adam Sorin.

What do you think about the idea of Clickbait?
