The directing team known as Radio Silence has been on quite a streak lately. The team (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella) have had success with recent films V/H/S99, Scream (2022), V/H/S94, and of course Ready or Not. Radio Silence’s next film, Scream VI looks to carve up the box office on March 10. Radio Silence is also working on a remake of Escape From New York.

We have learned that Universal is eyeing Radio Silence to direct their new horror film, ‘Abducting Abigail’. Stephen Shields wrote the script.

“The film follows a young girl (Abigail) who is abducted from her Boston brownstone in order to get ransom from her wealthy but shadowy father-what seems like an easy kidnapping job of course turns out to be far more to deal with than her captors could’ve imagined.”

The film looks to begin production on May 15 and run through July 26 in Dublin, Ireland.

Some character details for the film have also been revealed to us.

Sammy (female 30-39) – a calm and assured  professional that’s done it all and seen it all. This ain’t her first rodeo. She needs the financial help in order to help her daughter who is ill.

Frank (male 50-59) – The mastermind of the job. Has taut features and intelligent eyes.

Rickles (male 30-39) – The shooter of the group…chiseled features and has chemistry with Sammy.

Dean (male 20-29) – wild eyed, the driver of the heist

Joey (female 20-29) – the hacker of the group. One side of her head shaved, piercings galore.

Abigial (female 14) – abducted and held hostage by the team. She seems like the victim for the duration of the abduction, only for the team to realize that they may be the victims instead.

Stay tuned to Geek Vibes Nation as we bring you more information on Abducting Abigial as we get it and stay tuend for our Scream VI review coming soon as well.
