Ray Park has made himself quite a following playing masked characters that either someone else provides the dialogue or his character doesn’t speak at all. This was true as Darth Maul and as the silent member of the GI Joe squad Snake Eyes In GI Joe: Rise of Cobra and GI Joe Redemption. Unfortunately, the actor will not be reprising his role as Snake Eyes in the new stand-alone film.
In a recent interview with Film, Lorenzo DiBonaventura, who is the producer of both the Transformers and the GI Joe franchises, was asked if Park would assume the role he has played in the past two installments.
Probably not, because we are going to the origin story. As you know in the comic book, you saw his face. And it is, I’ll say, the formation of a hero. So you’ve got to see somebody and it can’t be Ray’s age, unfortunately.
For you GI Joe fan’s, are you disappointed that Ray Park will not be assuming the role of Snake Eyes? Which young actor would you like to see take on the role? Share your GI Joe Recruitment ideas with us at GVNation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
