[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”32839″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The classic comedy show ‘Reno 911!’ is coming back for a seventh season. The Comedy Central series originally ran from 2003 and 2009. The revival will air on Quibi. So far, the original series creators and Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri Kenney-Silver are on board to come back. Currently, additional casting will come later. Comedy Central Productions is set to produce.

Lennon expressed his excitement:

“’Reno 911!’ holds a special place in our hearts, and it will be a delight to get the original cast back together for ‘re-boot goofin’. Hopefully Nick Swardson can still roller skate. Quibi’s short format seems custom made for our show.”

A mockumentary-style parody of Cops, Reno 911! Followed a group of deputies who “worked” at the Reno Sheriff’s Department. Most of the series was unscripted and actors frequently improvised their lines. In 2007, the series came out with a movie called “Reno 911!: Miami”.

Comedy Central’s co-heads of original content, Sarah Babineau and Jonas Larsen, commented:

“We are very excited to partner with Ben, Kerri and Tom, three of the most gifted multi-hyphenates in comedy, to bring more of their iconic series ‘Reno 911!’ to the world. Fans demanded this for a long time and Comedy Central Productions and Quibi are thrilled to help answer that kind of 911 call.”

Doug Herzog, of Quibi; also commented:

“I couldn’t say it better than Sarah and Jonas, and I for one will sleep soundly knowing ‘Reno 911!’ is back on the beat keeping our streets safe once again.”

The streaming platform Quibi will launch in April of 2020 and will offer subscribers original short-form content for mobile-only viewing.
