A new year always brings new opportunities and excitement for upcoming events, such as the comic cons. In Richmond VA, the annual GalaxyCon is the first to kick off the event season at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. This year, it will be held from March 15th to 17th, and it promises to bring in an impressive lineup of celebrities, creators, voice-over actors, wrestlers, and more.
With just over a week to go, we would like to showcase some of the exciting guests who will be attending this year’s GalaxyCon in Richmond. Notably, there will be a fantastic representation from the Star Wars universe, including Ian McDiarmid, who played the role of the Emperor. Additionally, there will be appearances from Katee Sackhoff, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Gina Carano, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, all from The Mandalorian series. Unfortunately, Carl Weathers, who was scheduled to attend, passed away recently, and he will be greatly missed.
Voice Over Performers
One of the things that GalaxyCon excels at is bringing in a who’s who of voice over talent. From the legendary Peter Cullen of Transformers fame, to Tara Strong (Miss Minutes from Marvel’s Loki). As well as the voices behind the different popular Star Wars animated series. GalaxyCon’s voiceover game is strong.
Wrestling
But these are just SOME of the talented people appearing in Richmond. For those who are wrestling fans, GalaxyCon once again has brought in an impressive roster of wrestling icons, including the just recently retired Sting (Saturday Only). His appearance alone would have brought me in. But when added to such legends as Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, Trish Stratus, Lita, Barry Windham and Scott Steiner, Richmond GalaxyCon has won the title.
Comic Creators
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Con with comic creators. Once again GalaxyCon has brought in a diverse and talented selections of creators, headlined by X-Men writing icon, Chris Claremont. Also appearing is former Marvel Editor, writer and creator Jim Shooter, Milestone Comics co-founder and talented artist Denys Cowan, artist Declan Shalvey, popular cover artist Liana Kangas, writer/creator Kyle Higgins and so many more.
With less than a week away, there is still time to get your tickets if you live in the Richmond area, but they are going fast. You can check out what’s coming here. Don’t miss out on what should be a fun three days of GalaxyCon excitement.
