[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”11128″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Among all of the newest Star Wars movies that have been released over the past couple of years, Rogue One was one of the most popular. Starring Diego Luna, who now helms Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico; will be returning for a prequel series on the upcoming Disney+ streaming service. Now we’re learning who will be shepherding this project and it’s The Americans’ executive producer Stephen Schiff.
Lucasfilm will produce the series for the streaming service, which will follow the ventures of Cassian Andor (Luna) during the years in the Rebellion and will take place before the Rogue One movie.
“Going back to the Star Warsuniverse is very special for me. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.” – Luna had spoken to StarWars.com when the series was announced.
Rogue One will be the second Star Wars series on the Disney+ streaming service, the other being The Mandalorian, which will follow the warrior race that essentially gave birth to Jango and Boba Fett. Director Jon Favreau will be at the head of this project, which bodes well for the series.
