Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings’ Simu Liu recalls Meeting Black Widow’s David Harbour at SDCC Last Year

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hasn’t even come out yet, but we already love Simu Liu. Ever since the actor was announced as the Marvel hero at last year’s SDCC, we’ve been patiently awaiting for his premiere movie in the MCU. Then, COVID-19 happened and we’re all stuck waiting. Think about it, we would have already had Black Widow and a few of the Disney+ Marvel series. But, the world took an unexpected turn and we all must be patient.

Since times like these are times for reflection, Liu did a little bit of that in a recent Instagram post. In this post, he recalled his announcement at SDCC. As well as meeting another actor who will make his introduction into the MCU – David Harbour.

Liu recalls a very wholesome interaction with Harbour, who will play the Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian in Black Widow:

“A year ago, at Hall H, I told David Harbour that I was a huge fan of him as we walked offstage after our big group photo. He smiled and said, ‘Kid, after seeing you onstage, I’m a big fan of you too!'”

Liu’s message was filled with positivity, as he ended his post with:

“Unfortunately, the Universe had other plans for us. Thank you all for an amazing year; it’s been a ride, but we’re still here! LET’S FINISH THIS!!!!!”

Shang-Chi will resume production this month. Shooting will take place in Australia, as well as Los Angeles. Fingers crossed that everything goes well and the film can keep its May 7, 2021 place.
