SHE WILL is a gothic-tinged drama about a declining movie star, Veronica Ghent (Alice Krige) who after a difficult surgery, goes to a healing retreat in rural Scotland with her young nurse Desi (Kota Eberhardt). With her own identity in doubt, Veronica starts to confront past traumas endured on movie sets. The two women develop an unlikely bond as the mysterious nature of the wilderness gives Veronica the power to enact revenge.

Video Quality
She Will debuts on Blu-Ray with a 1080p presentation in its original aspect ratio that looks perfectly solid. The movie often takes place in darkness or shadow, which is helped along by deep black levels that hold together without issue. Objects retain their detail in these instances and maintain their depth with banding only showing up in rare instances. The transfer provides a striking amount of detail and clarity even in more dreamlike situations. The movie itself has a natural palette that renders very nicely on screen, especially when in the glorious expanses of nature. There are certain deep hues such as the orange of fire which make a big impression. No damage or digital noise was detected that would detract from this transfer. IFC Films and RLJE have given this one a really pleasing transfer.
Audio Quality
The film comes to Blu-Ray with an effective DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track that executes the sound design perfectly. Dialogue and sound effects are balanced well with the score where nothing loses clarity. The movie utilizes environmental sounds to add to the sense of disorientation to the proceedings with a very immersive atmosphere. Surround channels create a very precise sense of spatial awareness with sounds emanating from all of their distinct points. The low end is not consistently active, but it adds some terrific texture that accentuates the atmosphere. This audio track never hits a false note. There are English SDH and Latin American Spanish subtitles provided.

Final Thoughts
She Will is a really satisfying and enthralling supernatural revenge tale which finds Alice Krige commanding the screen with a vengeance. There are a handful of moments that seem a tad bit extraneous, but overall the journey is so entrancing that you cannot help but stay glued to the screen. The themes are rich without being too single-minded in what the overall “message” of the film should be. This is terrific use of the genre from an exciting up-and-coming filmmaker. IFC Films and RLJE Entertainment have released a Blu-Ray featuring a lovely A/V presentation but nothing in the way of special features. This one has flown more under the radar, but it is well worth a look for horror fans. Recommended
She Will is currently available to purchase on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital.

Dillon is most comfortable sitting around in a theatre all day watching both big budget and independent movies.
