Showtime’s Halo Series Brings in Director Otto Bathurst

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16244″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]For fans of the popular game Halo, you’ll want to know that Showtime has found a new director for its series. Otto Bathurst has been brought in to direct and executive produce this drama from showrunner Kyle Killen. Bathurst directed last year’s Robin Hood and will direct the upcoming His Dark Materials, Peaky Blinders, and Criminal Justice.

Halo will also be only nine episodes, as it was originally announced that it would be ten. Having original director Rupert Wyatt depart and the cutting of episodes is a little bit of a shakeup, but Showtime co-president of entertainment Gary Levine has stated how committed they are to their “most ambitious series ever”:

“Showtime’s adaptation of Halo is evolving beautifully with rich characters, compelling stories and powerful scripts,” the network’s co-president of entertainment Gary Levine said in December. “Obviously, the production demands of this series are enormous, and we have had to add time to the schedule in order to do it right. Sadly, this delay has created a conflict for Rupert, whom we warmly thank for all he has brought to the project.”
