Sisu: Road to Revenge is an explosive action event, a sequel to the original sleeper hit SISU. Returning to the house where his family was brutally murdered during the war, “the man who refuses to die” (JORMA TOMMILA) dismantles it and loads it onto a truck, determined to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honor. When the Red Army commander who killed his family (STEPHEN LANG from Don’t Breathe) comes back hellbent on finishing the job, a relentless, eye-popping cross-country chase ensues — a fight to the death, full of clever, unbelievable action set pieces.

Video Quality
Sisu: Road to Revenge thrives with its 2160p/Dolby Vision presentation in 2.39:1 on this 4K UHD Blu-Ray disc. Continuing a recent trend from Sony, this release does not come with a standard Blu-Ray to judge the level of improvement from format to format. Skin tones remain consistent throughout and show a terrific amount of facial detail on these bloody and bruised faces. This transfer shows a phenomenal amount of detail in even the most discrete facets of dirt and grime, and within the wartorn landscapes and uniforms. When the movie uses digital effects, it seamlessly blends in well with the practical so that the illusion is rarely broken.
The utilization of Dolby Vision is the notable benefit here with the shades on display looking impeccable. The palette may lean more desaturated, but colors look optimized in this presentation with moments of fiery explosions emanating off the screen with force. Black levels are wonderfully deep and detailed with digital noise absent from the screen. Even the darkest sequences exhibit no signs of crush. This transfer similarly showcases a strong command of highlights which show no hints of blooming. Overall, this is a first-rate 4K UHD presentation that gives you everything you want.
Audio Quality
This disc comes equipped with a Dolby Atmos track, which will be a source of joy to those who were disappointed that the first film only had a 5.1 track on the 4K UHD release. This is reasonable given how effective the addition of height channels is to the experience, thrusting you right in the middle of the chaos. The sound design of this film is a knockout, and the deployment of environmental sounds is executed quite deftly. The low end is put to work when it comes to the numerous explosions and the spraying of bullets.
Dialogue is kept to a minimum, but it is presented clearly without ever being overshadowed by any of the competing sonic elements. The score amps up the tension of every sequence with a dynamic invocation that permeates the room. Sounds materialize with precise directionality to give this one personality. This disc comes through in full effect for audiophiles. Optional English, English SDH, French, Spanish, and an array of other subtitles are provided.

Special Features
Sony has provided Sisu: Road to Revenge with a sleek new SteelBook featuring artwork that is pleasing in person. Photos of the SteelBook can be found at the bottom of this review.
- Upping the Ante: A three-minute featurette that focuses on the cast and crew discussing the development of the sequel, how they wanted to top the original film, the central performance, and more.
- Alternate Ending: A 41-second alternate ending that does not change things on a fundamental level.
Final Thoughts
Sisu: Road to Revenge is a worthy sequel that takes everything that worked about the first one and amplifies it. The action is even more over-the-top in this outing, which may lessen the impact for some, but most will find themselves giggling at the unhinged carnage and inventive killing methods. There is not an abundance of character development, yet there is enough given to keep you locked in. If you had a great time with the initial outing, you should enjoy returning to this world. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has released a 4K UHD Blu-Ray that boasts a great A/V presentation and a few brief special features. Recommended
Sisu: Road to Revenge is currently available to purchase on 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital.

Dillon is most comfortable sitting around in a theatre all day watching both big budget and independent movies.
