These two, who created the ground-breaking reintroduction of the Wildstorm Universe; they will be bringing Wildcats along for a new adventure beginning August 28th with a six-issue miniseries.
Ellis stated:
“The first line I wrote down for WILDCATS was: ‘Saving the human race from the human race,’ It’s a team made up of people who have seen the worst in everybody and everything, and yet still put themselves in frankly absurd amounts of jeopardy just so tomorrow might be a little bit better. And it’s a short series, so I might just kill them all. Come and see what happens. The art is great.”
DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee also commented:
“Warren has created something truly spectacular with the relaunch of the WildStorm universe over the past two years. There are few visionaries in our business and few still who can elevate mythos with such vitality and spectacle. Paired with Ramon’s extraordinary artwork, I’m thrilled for fans to check this out come August.”
This covert team will be on a mission to stop humanity from destroying itself. The black-ops team features Grifter, Savant, John Colt, and Adrianna Tereshkova as they have discovered that Skywatch, a secret space program; has been performing top-secret medical experiments on abducted people for decades now. These experiments will reveal a new threat that no one is prepared for and while the team may have had their hands full in Wild Storm, this is going to be even crazier.
Villalobos stated:
