Sony’s Chief Hopes The Deal Between Sony and Marvel Studios Stays in Place

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”11571″ img_size=”900×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Don’t you all remember when the MCU was in its infantry and we had the first Avengers movie? Didn’t we all wonder what would happen if Spider-Man joined up? Where was Spider-Man? Spider-Man deserved to be in the Avengers. There were even memes about it! Then, our prayers were answered and at what seemed like the last second, Tom Holland was shuffled into Captain America: Civil War and the MCU wouldn’t be the same without Spidey. What if, though; the deal between Sony and Marvel Studios ended? Reverting Spidey solely back to Sony and leaving us without Peter Parker.

While Sony’s Venom was a financial success and their own extended universe seems to be right on track, Sony chief Amy Pascal talks about how she wants the deal to last as long as possible, giving the fans exactly what they want:

“I think about crying,” Pascal said of a potential Spidey break-up. “I can only hope for a future where things work out. I’ve known [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige] since he was Avi [Arad]’s very, very quiet assistant, who for many years sat in that room listening to us and being so much smarter than any of us without any of us realizing. I will say that working with Marvel has been one of the highlights of my professional career.”

I know I speak for many, but I hope the deal stays in place. For now, let’s focus on not only the amazing Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse that is stemming its own universe, but the fact that we have Spider-Man: Far From Home to look forward to.
