What happened to the children who lived through the Pandemic? Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny survived but will never be the same “Post COVID.” If Stan, Kyle and Cartman could just work together, they could go back in time to make sure COVID never happened and save Kenny’s life. In “The Return of COVID,” traveling back to the past seems to be the easy answer until they meet Victor Chaos.

Video Quality
South Park: Post COVID comes to Blu-Ray with a lovely transfer that is as vibrant and detailed as you expect from the long-running series in HD. The show does not shake things up stylistically, so there are no big surprises in store over these two specials. You may spot the occasional issue with banding in the background, but most will probably overlook it unless you are searching for it. Lines and details are crisp and maintained well without any bleeding into other segments. Colors are bright and bold throughout without being too detailed or nuanced due to the production style. This is a perfectly clear presentation free of any dirt or debris. South Park maintains the high level of quality it has always displayed on Blu-Ray.
Audio Quality
The Blu-Ray comes with a formidable Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track that does not disappoint. Dialogue is given focus in the mix with a crisp, clear presentation in the center speaker that somewhat creeps into surrounds during moments where it is necessitated by the narrative. Music presents with impeccable fidelity and stings accentuating certain scenes in the rear channels. The show employs a novel use of environmental effects that are directionally accurate within the mix. There are some environmental sound effects from the time-travel machine that provide a dynamism to the track. While not the most sonically ambitious episodes of the series, this disc offers up plenty of chances to show off a bit of unexpected complexity. There are optional English subtitles provided.
Special Features

Final Thoughts
South Park: Post COVID does not fit neatly into classic South Park output of yore, but it does tackle many of the big topics that have been woven into the DNA in recent seasons. This can be a bit of a drag sometimes, as many of the jokes have long passed their expiration date yet they keep showing up. There are so many laugh-out-loud moments that make you remember why you love the series, but everyone on the creative team needs to get things back on track in future seasons. Paramount Home Entertainment has released thes latest specials on Blu-Ray with a gorgeous A/V presentation but nothing in the way of special features. Fans of the series should be pleased with the presentation. Recommended
South Park: Post COVID is available to purchase on Blu-Ray and DVD.
