Stan Lee’s “Stan’s Soapbox” Released in Recent Comic Book Issue

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”15031″ img_size=”400×611″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It’s been a few months since Stan Lee’s passing and with very Marvel installment released, his absence is more and more felt. From the touching tribute in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, to the tribute at the end of The Punisher season two, he’s missed. Another commemoration comes in the form of Marvel Comics releasing a classic “Stan’s Soapbox” message from July of 1967.

Lee’s column began in 1967, then becoming an important aspect of the Bullpen Bulletins, which were news and information pages that were often used in monthly books that were released by Marvel Comics. Lee wrote these columns from 1967 to 1980, which are referred to (by Hero Initiative), “are presented in a historical context, so you can immerse yourself in the flavor of the day, and get a sense what was happening right outside Stan’s window when he penned ’em.”

Here is that column:

“This is as good a place as any to thank you once more for being the most wonderful fans any publishing company ever had! If Marvel is on top of the heap, it’s your support that’s put us there! If Marvel gives you the type of mags you want, it’s our letters that have told us how! And, if Marvel occasionally comes up with a clinker, go hang your head, hero! Whatever we are, you’ve made us! We’ve had a lot of laughs together, and a lot of excitement- and the best is till ahead! So face front, frantic one. Marvel’s on the march- and we’re not taking a step without you! On behalf of the entire batty Bullpen, to True Believers, everywhere- we’ll never let you down, ‘cause you’re the ever-loving’ greatest!”

Stan Lee’s inspiration can be seen in everything we see today and I’m sure many fans, including myself; will cry during his cameos in both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, which he filmed before his death. Go here to check out more info on this collection.
