Stargirl Lands Veteran Arrow Director for Pilot Episode

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”13217″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]DC Universe’s upcoming Stargirl has landed a director and it’s a good one! Veteran Director Glen Winter will be directing the pilot for the streaming site, which is a huge landing for the series. As someone who has directed episodes for Smallville, Arrow, The Flash, DC Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Titans, and Doom Patrol, Stargirl is in good hands with this knowledgeable DC director.

If all goes well, Stargirl will be the third successful series on the service, with Titans as the first, Doom Patrol as the second, which is already looking good ahead of its February 15th debut, and after Stargirl, Swamp Thing will be hitting DC Universe in late 2019.

Below you can find the synopsis for the series provided by Heroic Hollywood:

“High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions, and Berlanti Productions.
Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitemore and Joel McHale as Starman with Luke Wilson, Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal, and Christopher James in undisclosed roles. Geoff Johns will write and executive produce the 13-episode first season of Stargirl. Sarah Schechter and Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti will also serve as executive producers on the series.”
