Disney has made it pretty clear that they will absolutely not rehire James Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It has been well established that the reason he was fired was based on multiple old tweets of jokes involving pedophilia and rape that were unearthed and reposted on social media. Despite a large fan outcry and multiple support from celebrities, which includes the cast and crew of Guardians of the Galaxy, Disney has refused to reconsider and decided to stand firm with their decision to fire James Gunn.
With Gunn out of the picture, fans have all attempted to guess about who could possibly take over James Gunn’s unique vision and style. While the name of Taika Waititi has been suggested by many, one fan asked Steven S. DeKnight if he would consider taking on the job. DeKnight, who was the former showrunner for Daredevil season 1 also has feature film experience having directed Pacific Rim Uprising. DeKnight responded that he would politely decline, as indicated belo
While the first season of Daredevil was showered with praise and critical acclaim, DeKnight quit ahead of the show’s second season. It is thought his departure was the reason the show was unable to replicate the success of its first season. With that in mind, it’s no wonder that fans might think DeKnight would be well-suited for the job but it appears DeKnight is not interested.
I would politely decline. No way in hell I could come close to what @JamesGunn has accomplished. https://t.co/2P8ROdljOB

Well Guardian of the Galaxy fans, do agree that Steven DeKnight might have been able to pull it off? Not that it matters since he has indicated he would refuse the project, but you never know. Perhaps you are fatigued about hearing about it. Either way, let us know your thoughts at GVNation.
