    Strategies to Boost Productivity in the Workplace

    Every entrepreneur dreams of growth. One way of measuring or achieving growth is by working with a productive team. Employee productivity is one of the hot topics in the business world. Every business person is always on the look-out for tools, ideas, and opportunities that can maximize productivity. While there are many ways to go about it, working with those that support your business needs is key. Trying a mix of emerging tools and organizational behaviors must be considered in the process.     Build a strong team

It also involves active listening and constantly engaging your employees.

    Have the right tools and equipment

    Business practices are rapidly evolving. As a serious entrepreneur, you cannot afford to be conservative but instead, invest in evolving technologies that are not only efficient but aid productivity. A good example is investing in workflow management software’s that frees your workforce from repetitive, error-prone, and mundane tasks that plague efficiency and productivity. Before you do this, ensure you engage your employees to know what tools they need, how it will support their functions, and their knowledge of technology. After engaging them, you can then proceed to invest in the different tools and equipment. However, you will need to have strong and reliable chat-based IT support to ensure smooth operations. You do want employees spending hours trying to understand software or solving an IT problem. Your IT is supposed to ease operations and save time. You don’t need to invest a lot in IT though; you can outsource from a managed service provider.     Delegate

    Another great way of boosting productivity is delegating. If you want your employees to gain a sense of identification and loyalty, which encourages them to perform better, you must assign them bigger tasks.

    • Choose the right person for the task
    • Explain the role and reason for delegating
    • Give instructions
    • Provide resources and training
    • Provide feedback for growth

    Reduce distractions

    It is impossible to achieve anything if your employees are spending most part of their day on Social Media or moving around making calls all-day. Well, it doesn’t mean that you ban mobile phone use or social media. It simply means you have policies in place that will guide the work environment. However, you must create a balance because being too strict, on the other hand, hinders productivity

    Demonstrate Care

    Did you know that companies that have instituted fitness programs experience decreased absenteeism and lower turnout rates? Yes, caring for your employees in this manner is a great way to increase productivity. If you think about it, investing in the physical, emotional, and mental health of your employee is key in boosting productivity. Other than listening to them, allowing them to go on leaves, and setting realistic goals is a great way of showing that you care about their well-being.

    Reward your employees

    Everyone loves to be rewarded or appreciated for a great job done. You can maximize employee productivity by investing in employee satisfaction. While other ways result in employee satisfaction, perks, and rewards top that list. In fact, when employees know they will be appreciated or rewarded for doing a great job, they will turn down offers from other companies.

    Here are some great ways that you can reward your employees

    • Offer time off
    • You can give tickets to an event
    • Offer money
    • Handwritten thank-you notes from a manager is great!
    • A promotion will also be appreciated.

    Measure performance

    To improve productivity, you need to measure performance. Remember, everything can be measured. From the amount of time spent in meetings or breaks, emails sent or phone calls made. If you measure performance, you will know what to improve on to ensure your company is more productive

You need a transparent shift in your workplace by having employees, practices, and digital solutions that are right for your company. While there is no universal guide that will guarantee quick results, the tips discussed above should help you
