October is an eventful month with plenty of exciting options for people of all interests. For comic and celebrity enthusiasts, the NYCC is taking place from October 12th to 15th. Meanwhile, for those who appreciate graphic arts, Lightbox Expo 2023 is scheduled for October 27th to 29th in Pasadena CA. On the other hand, TwitchCon 2023 is the perfect destination for live-streaming gaming fans, and it will be held in Las Vegas from October 20th to 22nd. Established in 2015, TwitchCon is a semi-annual gaming convention for the live-streaming video platform Twitch.
As part of TwitchCon 2023, Prime Video will be sponsoring the “Super College Fair” at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The fair will showcase Prime Video’s popular original series Invincible and The Boys spinoff Gen V. Prime Video is inviting all TwitchCon attendees to their “college fair” to discover their inner superhero. The event space will be filled with superhero university preparation activities, a virtual campus tour, games, and more to encourage attendees to explore their potential and find their own “super” powers.
Visitors can win Prime Tokens by immersing themselves in this iconic world and participating in the fair’s activities. They can redeem these tokens for exclusive merchandise such as branded tote bags, Gen V and Invincible apparel, and gamer prizes. ENTRANCE EXAM
The top two superhero colleges, Godolkin University (Gen V) and Upstate University (Invincible), will be inviting guests to take a five-minute Entrance Exam to see if they have what it takes to survive Super College. Engaging emcees will ask for two teams of two players to test their skills through a series of mental and physical challenges on the activation’s stage, such as ‘Heads Up’, ‘Survey Says’, ‘Flip Cup’ and ‘Fill in the Blank’. Hosts include Twitch streamers Ovilee May, AshSaidHi, DataDave, Raquel, and more. Prime Tokens will be given to each participant; however, the winning players will receive extra tokens to spend at The Campus Bookstore where there will be a variety of prizes to choose from.
BOOTH ACTIVITIES
To get a better feel for the colleges, guests can take a hyper-interactive virtual tour of the Godolkin University Campus, appearing almost as if they are stepping foot on the quad, dorm rooms, School of Crimefighting, and more. Participants can also take their official school photo for Godolkin University or Upstate University. Once their photo is taken, the incoming students will receive their printed school ID with their superhero name and superpower to take with them on their next adventure.
Prospective students at Upstate University are invited to check out the Plinko booth and take their chance at winning additional Prime Tokens. Cheerleaders from each college will be posing with prospective students to recruit them to their school, dropping some clues of what really goes down on campus.
BEYOND THE BOOTH
Prime Video has teamed up with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) marching band, which is comprised of members from the university’s undergraduate and graduate programs. At the start of this year’s TwitchCon, the band will begin playing outside the main entrance before making their way through the halls of the convention center toward Prime Video’s “Super College Fair.” The group will gather in front of the activation space where they will present a special performance for the audience.
