With pop culture, geek culture, scientific, and all-around life references in every episode, the show featured real-life cameos from the likes of stan Lee, Neil Degrasse Tyson, and even the late Stephen Hawking. We wouldn’t even have time to mention all the shows and superheroes mentioned, not to exclude the frequent use of The Cheesecake Factory as a hub for all the characters to converse and eat; which often led to hilarity by the absurdity of Jim Parson’s Sheldon Cooper.
All good things must come to an end, and it seems the same can be said of The Big Bang Theory. After twelve seasons of nerdy fun, CBS’s hit show will have to say goodbye. It’s actually heartfelt to look back at the four friends who have come so far, especially with characters like Sheldon and Raj developing and growing as much as they have. The comedic sitcom, which had plenty of its own heartfelt episodes; remains CBS’s longest-running show, banking at 279 episodes. In response to the announcement of the show’s end, WBTV, CBS, and Chuck Lorre Productions stated:
“We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers, and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and the series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”
The Big Bang Theory will begin its final season on September 24th before moving to its regular time period on Thursday, September 27.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
