The CW Renews Its DC Line Up, Riverdale, and Supernatural

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14612″ img_size=”600×350″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It should come to no surprise that the CW has the made to renew all of their superheroes shows ahead of its 2019-2020 season, according to the announcement by the network president Mark Pedowitz at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena.

Among these renewals are Arrow, Supergirl, and Legend’s of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Black Lightning. During the crossover this season (which did not include Black Lightning) Ruby Rose’s Batwoman was introduced and as a result, a pilot has been ordered, so we have that to look forward to as well. Pedowitz commented:

“This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning. These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”

It should be noted that iZombie is owned by Vertigo, essentially making it a DC property and considering its upcoming fifth season is its last, this will make it the first DC property canceled by CW since Smallville.

Riverdale and Supernatural also got renewals from CW today.

We also have next year’s crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths” to look forward to, so it’s a good time to be a fan of the DC content on CW. Are you happy that these shows have gotten renewed? Are you not surprised? Let us know!
