Lifelong friends travel to Key West, Fla., to be bridesmaids in a college girlfriend’s surprise wedding. Over the course of one outrageous trip, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past resurfaces, and there are enough sparks, sex and romance to change all of their lives in unexpected ways.

Video Quality
Decal Releasing brings The Fabulous Four to Blu-Ray with a stellar 1080p video presentation. The sumptuous image is crisp with the Key West locale radiating off the screen. Flesh tones are natural and consistent with great detail present in close-ups. The presentation allows for an amazing amount of depth on display, especially when out on the open water or exploring the town. The production design and the clothing provide impeccably clear textural details. Black levels are deep with no serious instances of digital noise. Some light banding and other minor digital quirks pop up in the transfer. Overall this is a solid release from the label.
Audio Quality
This Blu-Ray comes with a perfectly realized DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track that captures this narrative without a hitch. Dialogue is at the forefront of the film, and it always comes through clearly without being overshadowed by any competing sounds. The music in the film emanates from the speakers with crisp fidelity. There are a few welcome moments in the film that add texture to the low end such as the boat sequence. Environmental sounds of the world liven up the surround speakers in a really impactful way. Ambient sounds are deftly placed in the rear channels for a fully immersive experience. The audio track does everything it needs to. Optional English SDH and Spanish subtitles are provided.

Final Thoughts
The Fabulous Four is not the worst movie released this year, but it should be considered one of the films that most squanders its talented cast. When you have a bevy of living legends together in one comedic outing, you need to give them something to work with besides stale, broad comedy and insulting depictions of aging. This dynamic has become its own subgenre, and audiences deserve some amount of effort expended to make something that feels heartfelt and hilarious. Almost every character outside of the one played by Susan Sarandon feels like a caricature. This might serve as a light diversion away from the plethora of heavy stories being released each week, but the memory of it will fade nearly instantly. Decal Releasing has released a Blu-Ray featuring a terrific A/V presentation but nothing in the way of supplemental features.
The Fabulous Four is currently available to purchase on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital.

Dillon is most comfortable sitting around in a theatre all day watching both big budget and independent movies.
