The Full Cast Has Been Revealed for Netflix’s ‘The Sandman’

The Netflix adaptation of the Neil Gaiman DC classic ‘The Sandman‘ is currently in production on its first season and they have finally revealed the cast for the series:

  • Tom Sturridge (Velvet Buzzsaw) will be starring as Dream, also known as Morpheus, ruler of the realm “The Dreaming”
  • Gwendoline Christie will be playing Lucifer Morningstar, the ruler of hell
  • Charles Dance is Roderick Burgess, Charlatan and Magician, respectively
  • Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan) will be playing The Corinthian, and escaped nightmare
  • Vivienne Acheampong (The Witches) will plat Lucienne the librarian
  • Asim Chaudhry (Black Mirror: Bandersnatch) will play Abel The first victim
  • Sanjeev Bhaskar (Yesterday) will play Cain The first predator

 

Neil Gaiman will be serving as an executive producer for the series along with Allan Heinberg (who is also servinga s the showrunner) and David Goyer. Gaiman also confirmed that the show will be making several changes to the source material including setting the series in the 21st century rather than 1989, as well as the casting of Gwendoline Christie as the androgynous Lucifer Morningstar. Based on a young David Bowie, the androgynous role has only been cast as male in prior adaptations.

While anticipation and excitement run high for the series, Netflix has not announced a release date yet. How excited are you to finally see this source material come to life after spending so many years in development hell?
