“The Long Night” Most Viewed Episode of Game of Thrones and HBO Series Ever

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”20925″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Game of Thrones released The Long Night on Sunday, where viewers watched their favorite characters go hand to hand with the greatest threat to fall onto Westeros – The Wight Walkers. This gruesome episode featured death, epic sword battles, and firefights. It also gained the title of the most viewed episode in the series and in HBO’s history ever. This was due to not only the channel HBO itself, but apps using HBOGo and HBO Now that helped the third episode of the final season gain the traction that it did.

The Long Night is also the longest episode so far as 82 minutes; the episode garnered 12.02 million viewers on April 28th. It also snagged the second best demo result that Game of Thrones ever had at 5.28 among adults 18-49 years of age. The number one still goes to The Dragon and the Wolf at 5.70.

While there were deaths among this episode, many of the main characters were left alive, which makes sense considering the battle ahead. One of the small critics of this episode was that the lighting made it difficult for anyone to see what was truly going on, but we know in The Long Night that Jon Snow and everyone else looked to almost be done for, if it weren’t for [SPOILERS] Arya.

The next episode seems that Daenerys will be focused on taking down Cersei and attempting to retake the Iron Throne, as she has journeyed to do since the first season. Have you watched The Long Night? What did you think?
