This week’s episode of The Mandalorian certainly made up for the filler episode last week. And it’s all thanks to Bryce Dallas Howard! Seriously, she’s probably one of the best directors The Mandalorian brings in. While this episode still follows Mando’s journey to return The Child to its people, this episode takes a more action-packed/adventure stance than its previous chapter. It was a really good episode and storyline that we really needed in this second season. All I have to say is, the more Mandalorians, the better!
Slight Spoilers
This episode was packed with familiar faces. From Sasha Banks, to Titus Welliver, to Katee Sackhoff as the Star Wars Rebels character Bo-Katan Kryze. It was a great episode that found Din Djarin traveling to Trask. The Frog Lady and her eggs (most of them) are returned to her husband, but Din’s ship has sustained extensive damage. While on Trask, his path is crossed with three other Mandalorians. Not only is this cool because their armor was awesome, but because it touched upon the Mandalorian lore we’ve been fed the entire show. And, in many ways; contradicted it. At least, contradicted the teachings Din had learned his entire life.

While Din was highly skeptical about these findings, these three Mandalorians proved to be highly capable allies. I hope they return in the season. Chapter 11 felt like one of the most “Star Wars-y” episode in The Mandalorian. We got members of the Empire, the classic uniforms, and a brief image of Moff Gideon, which certainly moves the plot along. On top of this, the episode had plenty of heart-pounding moments that complimented the well-done action scenes.

Rating: 4.5/5
These great scenes with the blue-armored Mandalorians, paired with cute Baby Yoda scenes, and more information about ‘The Watch’ made this my favorite episode of the season so far. Plus, if you’re waiting for Ahsoka Tano to finally make her premiere…it looks like that’s happening soon.
