Shane Black’s The Predator has gone through schedule delays and reshoots, but don’t count this film out yet. Hype seems to finally be underway with some new footage recently released on Twitter. Directed by Black, who had a role in the original Predator movie in 1987, this is the fourth installment in the franchise. Featuring quite an ensemble of actors, it looks like the fate of the world is within their hands. The Predator will bring a new era of the series to audiences now and it’s honestly looking pretty good.

We’re definitely in for some good action scenes from what I can see in the new footage, and I really like the almost “satirical” take the film will have. It reminds me very much of Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad where the impossible task of taking down such a large enemy will be put in the hands of a bunch of unexpected heroes. The Predator will star Boyd Holbrook (Logan, Narcos), Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key (how do you not know him?), Olivia Munn, the every-so talented Sterling K. Brown, and Alfie Allen.
The Predator will also feature female predators for the first time and it seems in the footage we’ve just seen, that the team will have to contend with the super Predator. It’s looking like this film could be a great call-back to the 80s with a modern day cast. Shane Black has worked hard on this film and considering he was in the original film, I believe he has a good grasp of the franchise and what fans want. For Marvel fans, he was also the ma behind Iron Man 3, which is the fifteenth highest-grossing film worldwide.
The Predator will be out in theaters September 14, 2018.
