While Billy Batson learns the responsibility of a superhero in the upcoming Shazam film, actor Zachary Levi is having too much fun being a kid on set if the DC film. The newly released trailer during this year’s SDCC received a lot of positive praise, which really could help the DCEU.
In a sit down during SDCC, Levi got candid about a prop that he actually had taken with him from the set of Shazam. Actors taking props is nothing new. Jon Bernthal’s boots are the same ones he wore during his time as Shane on The Walking Dead and as someone who was in High School Theater, I have a few pieces swiped after production ended.
“I’m wondering if I can talk about the thing I took from set. It’s a person,” he joked. “No, there’s some signage, some neon signage in the movie that when you see it you will know what that signage is, and it just struck me as really funny and awesome and I thought if that gets to live anywhere I want it to like, be in my garage or something so that’s what I took. But with the understanding that should the production need it for any reason, I have to ship it back or we’ll just build a new one, I don’t know.”
We’re not exactly sure what the signage was that Levi took, but if it’s as cool as Levi describes, we’ll immediately notice it. Shazam and Aquaman are both upcoming movies that look like breaths of fresh air for the DCEU. Levi has clearly been having a great time, which will really make the film even better. In the past, Levi has described the film as having a lot of heart and we’ll get to see this come to light on April 5, 2019.
