And after Friday’s premiere of the explosive sophomore season, we’d all assume that the Jon Bernthal led series would, of course, be renewed. But, we are living in a time of uncertainty with Netflix, as it’s already canceled three of its five Marvel shows. And after Daredevil’s stellar third season, it was canceled, so is any other show truly safe?
If there was a third season, showrunner Steve Lightfoot commented on what he’d like to see:
“Yeah. All those guys are great. Obviously Daredevil and Punisher have a lot of history and story between them in the comic books. So it would be great to dig into some of that. Also villains like the Kingpin who was featured in quite a lot of the Punisher books as well. So it would be fantastic to get some of those guys back into the show if we can make it work.”
Desperate times call for desperate measures and I am only hoping that begging will work with Netflix and they will renew The Punisher and give the fans the reunion between Frank, Matt Murdock, and Wilson Fisk that they want.
