With any movie, there are plenty of deleted scenes, but with a movie of this size, the Russo Brothers are telling fans to not expect for there to be many deleted scenes when all is said and done. Joe Russo stated:
“This is a weird one; we’ve been working on this movie for well over a year in editorial because we had finished it in 2018. And it literally hasn’t moved maybe more than two minutes from its original runtime of the directors’ cut. It’s just a tough one, there’s a lot of story in it. And we like emotional stakes that require screen time. We have almost everything in this movie that we shot.”
Anthony then added:
“We love tight, propulsive storytelling. We like movies that are very dense in what they’re offering you moment to moment so that when you revisit them, there’s more there to keep chewing on. We try to structure movies that are very tight, and this is a tight three hours.”
But, deleted scenes do make for a fun treat when you purchase the movie for at home viewing. So, when asked if there were any deleted scenes, Joe revealed that there were a handful, but not many. This means that we really are going to see a lot during Endgame, which makes sense considering it is essentially the “end of an era”. Not only are we seeing the aftermath of the events in Infinity War, but it’s essentially the end of the ten-year run that has made up the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
