[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”19378″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]With Avengers: Endgame hitting theaters at the end of this month and the Russo Brothers have stated that they wouldn’t be opposed to do a DCEU movie, fans are wondering when will we next see the Russo Brothers in the MCU and will we in the future?
The talented brothers recently went on to talk about the storyline that would bring them back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is the Secret Wars story. The Russo Brothers obviously need a well-deserved break, as Endgame was a massive feat and even the brothers themselves have expressed in the past how intense it was filming Infinity War and Endgame back to back.
Joe Russo explained:
“I keep saying Secret Wars because that was one of the first books that I really fell in love with as a kid,” Joe says. “This notion of, you know, event storytelling, and I think that’s part of the reason that we gravitate so strongly towards these event films and these ensemble films is the notion that you can contain so many different characters and so many different points of view and galvanize them around a story point is really compelling to us.”
The Secret Wars would not be the latest iteration, rather drawing inspiration from the mid-1980s version, which was the original. As far as when the brothers would be able to start a Secret Wars project, they had stated in the past that Marvel Head Kevin Feige does have his schedule set, but that that can always change depending on how well a movie does.
“I don’t know,” Joe Russo said. “I think Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios President] always has a plan in his head, but he’s always ready to throw out the plan and adjust the plan because you never know how the movies are going to turn out. You want to make sure each movie in front of you is a good movie. And if you’re thinking about the movie past it, then you’re not focusing all of your energy on the movie that’s in front of you.”
