Just in time for Halloween, The Shining will be making its way to home video in 4K Ultra HD.
Available October 1st, the 4K restoration is said to have been done using “a new 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative.”
Along with the release, the movie is also set to return to theaters for two nights, starting Thursday, September 26th and Tuesday, October 1st. To celebrate the release, fans will get a sneak peak at Doctor Sleep – coming to theaters November 8th.
Doctor Sleep follows an adult Danny Torrance (played by Ewan McGregor) as he attempts to save a young girl afflicted with the same ability – “The Shining” – from an evil cult known as The True Knot who prey on children in order to stay immortal.
