Corey Stoll and Jon Bernthal nearly worked together on First Man before Bernthal had to step away due to family matters. Now, the two will finally share the screen as Stoll joins the ensemble cast of The Many Saints of Newark — the highly anticipated prequel to The Sopranos.
We recently reported that Bernthal and Vera Farmiga were cast in the film set during the 1960s. Alongside them, Stoll and Billy Magnussen have now been added to the lineup, further rounding out the impressive cast.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the film is said to take place amid the Newark riots of the late ’60s. Given the legacy of The Sopranos as one of HBO’s most acclaimed series, this prequel already has fans buzzing. With such a strong cast, expectations are high.
What do you think about this casting news? Are you excited to see a Sopranos prequel?
