‘The Walking Dead’s’ Xander Berkeley signs on for ‘Supergirl’ Season Four

Apparently dealing with the Walking Dead still leaves you with some free time on your hands. To fill that space,  TV Insider is reporting that Xander Berkeley has joined the cast of Supergirl for the CW series’ upcoming fourth season. Berkeley will be playing the role of Peter Lockwood who is the father of anti-alien hardliner Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty (Sam Witwer).

Fan’s of The Walking Dead know Berkeley best as Gregory in the popular Zombie Apocalypse show. His appearance in Supergirl will mark the actor’s third venture into the DC Comics world, after vocal work as Dr. Kirk Langstrom in Son of Batman, and as Manhunter in Beware the Batman.

With still having a paying gig with The Walking Dead (for now) it’s unclear exactly how many Supergirl episodes Berkeley will appear in.  At this point, it could range from a one time appearance to some sort of small story arc. If so, it would be similar to the way Betty Buckley’s role was established last season as the adopted mother of  Odette Annable (Reign)
