One of the most interesting theories was put out a month ago by the YouTube channel Star Wars Theory. It was their contention that Rey is a clone. One of many. This theory was seemingly emphasized from the trailer. Especially when they showed Rey dressed in black, wielding a double edged red lightsaber.
While this would seem to signify a turn to the dark side, they have a different theory. They believe that it is in fact one of the many clones of Rey. Most of them serving the Empire except for the Rey we’re all familiar with. This same type of story line was used in the video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. During that game, the Emperor and Darth Vader were trying to create force-sensitive clones. If they produced clones that didn’t turn out, they were discarded.
Using that example, they theorize that “our” Rey is in fact, one of those discarded clones. She was smuggled out of the cloning facility. Her bloodlines is said to include some of the most powerful Jedi and Sith to date. One of those would include The Emperor. This would explain her power and how quickly she has adapted. Sounds like a good theory. We only have til December 20th to find out.
