Things I Want To See In ‘The Boys’ Season 4

I’m not particularly sure when we’ll see Amazon’s The Boys season four, but I have some requests in the meantime. I absolutely loved season three of The Boys, as I love every season of this diabolical show. As much as I love superhero/comic book movies and shows, it’s nice seeing a show that succeeds in satirizing the absolute hell out of the genre. I cannot wait for season four to come out and see what it does. So, let’s get down to business – here’s a list of things I want to see happen in season four:

    I Want Homelander to Die

I’m starting this list strong and I don’t know if this is going to be a polarizing topic, but yea. I need Homelander to die. Not because I dislike Antony Starr as the character. Quite the opposite – I don’t think Homelander would have the terrifying presence he does if it wasn’t for Starr’s performance. I love Starr as this character, but he has to go. Okay, why you say? We’ve now had three seasons of “let’s go get Homelander” as the main driving point and he’s still not dead. You even brought in the character of Soldier Boy, who was suppose to be a Homelander-killer and Homelander still isn’t dead. How long can this show go with the underlying plot being to kill Homelander? It’s going to get stale, so either kill off the character or end the show in the most epic of ways.

    I Want Soldier Boy Back

Speaking of Soldier Boy, I need him back. And it looks like we’re getting him back. I was worried that Soldier Boy was killed off in the final episode of season three, but an end scene showed that the supe was just put back on ice. I loved Jensen Ackles as this character. It was such a great departure from what we saw him as in Supernatural. The depth and grittiness Ackles brought to the character made me love every scene he was in and my absolute favorite moments were between him and Homelander.

There Needs to Be a Scene Between Soldier Boy and Jeffrey Dean Morgan

In case you didn’t know, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast in an undisclosed role for season four. Before Morgan became known as the bat-wielding baddie in The Walking Dead, Morgan shared a screen with Ackles in Supernatural. Supernatural premiered on The CW for 15 seasons and it was created by the same man behind The Boys – Eric Kripke. Morgan played Ackles’ character Dean’s father John and to have a reunion between the two would be so cool.

I Need Billy Butcher to Make Amends With Ryan

Ryan may not be Billy’s son, but he is the son of the woman Billy loved the most. We all know Billy has a hard time showing emotions and most often will repel all those close to him. This repelling has done damage to Ryan in particular, who now is finding solace in the last man he should – Homelander. Ryan shares genes and powers with Homelander, which will ultimately spell bad news if this is not stopped in time. I believe Billy coming to Ryan and showing him love will not only heal Ryan, but will be what Billy needs to do before he dies.

    Should Billy Die?

Billy got some pretty grim news at the end of season three. He’s in bad shape due to the overuse of the V24 and it looks like Billy might not make it. While I’m sure most fans would want a miracle to be written into the story that saves Billy from certain death, I’m wondering if Billy dying is the story that needs to be told. Maybe this is his redemption story. Much like I think Tony Stark’s story ending in his death was poetically written, I think Billy’s should end the same way. Have him do a bit of good before he dies, let him make amends, and let his memory be what drives everyone else in the future.

Let Kimiko and Frenchie Have a Happy Ending

Let’s be honest – the real VIP couple on The Boys is Kimiko and Frenchie. My God, I love these two together. Their bond is something that is so real that it’s hard to believe that these are two actors telling a story. You really see them on screen together and believe they’re these characters. I just want them to be happy. That’s all.

What do you want to see in The Boys season four?
