Marvel’s Tom Hiddleston is teaming up with Claire Danes to star in Apple TV+’s adaptation of the Sarah Perry novel The Essex Serpent. This one-hour drama series will follow Danes as Cora – a newly widowed woman. Having finally been released by her abusive marriage, she relocates from Victorian London to a small village – Aldwinter in Essex.
Cora is intrigued by a “local superstition that a mythical creature known as the Essex Serpent has returned to the area.” Hiddleston stars as Will Ransome. Who is the trusted leader of a “small rural community”.
