Top Jim Hopper Moments from Stranger Things Season 3

Stranger Things Spoilers

Since his appearance in season one of Stranger Things, David Harbour’s Jim Hopper has been a fan favorite. This is why it was devastating that Hopper presumably died at the end of season three. Many speculate that Hopper is the “American” mentioned in the post-credit scene, but we don’t know for sure. Until season four [hopefully] brings him back, let’s explore some of the best moments of Jim Hopper in season three.

His Banter With Joyce

Winona Ryder is a fantastic actress and she has really given it her all as Joyce Byers. At first, she was the mother of a missing child and throughout the seasons has become a pivotable person in helping take down the monsters that plague Hawkins. She mostly does this with Hopper, who clearly has a history with her and would like a future with her as well. What makes their pairing great is the banter that ensues any time they’re on screen. Especially in season three. While the two were always bickering, it was clear as day how much both liked each other. Even Murray could see that.

Predicting Alexei Would Come Back

Alexei was also a fan favorite in season three. This cinnamon roll just wanted a Cherry Slurphie and to watch Looney Tunes. When Hopper came back with a Strawberry Slurphie instead, Alexei was less than inclined to help. That was until Hopper threw him out, much to Joyce and Murray’s protest. While it seemed that Alexei might just use this moment to leave, Hopper was right in predicting Alexei would come back. Considering Alexei didn’t have a scratch on him, it’s the assumption that the Russians he worked with would kill him, believing he gave up valuable information. Alexei came back and Hopper had his moment of triumph.

His Talk With Mike

Hopper cares about all the kids in Stranger Things, but especially Eleven. That is why when Mike started dating his adopted daughter Hopper was less than happy at all the time the two were spending together. Especially since all the two did was make out. When Hopper tried to have a heart to heart with Mike, the kid was less than respectful. So, Hopper had to take matters into his own hand and pretty much threatened Mike to not spend as much time with Eleven. And to respect him. It was hilarious and needless to say, any teenage boy would be terrified at that moment.

Beating Up The Mayor

We all knew that the Mayor in Hawkins was corrupt just by his smile. And considering his allegiance with the Russians, he was not doing well by the town. When Hopper wanted answers and the Mayor was not in the mood to cooperate, Hopper roughed him up. It was a great moment where Hopper refused to take his shit anymore and Joyce made sure that no one got in the room to interrupt.

His Letter To Eleven

Hopper had both a Captain America and Tony Stark moment in the last episode of season three. Not only did he made plans for a date with Joyce that he couldn’t make, but he left his daughter with a heartwarming and heartbreaking letter. While we’ve seen that Hopper isn’t the best at expressing his emotions, he made sure to put it all on the table with his letter to his daughter. It was uplifting and brought more than just one tear to the eye. We really hope that this isn’t the last of Hopper that we see. And make sure to keep the door open three inches.
