Top Unusual Online Games

Online gaming is incredibly popular, and we often hear about the most played and highest-grossing video games. However, this means that potentially we missed some excellent unusual games like online baccarat and classic arcade games that we forgot existed. It can be a lot of fun to explore games that most people overlook, and there are certainly plenty of places to choose from across the web.

Casino Games

When it comes to casino games, everyone immediately thinks of roulette and slot machines. Online baccarat has stood patiently in the background, and it’s an unusual but good fun game that you might want to try. Because it is not immediately obvious what the game entails, people often avoid it rather than having a good look. It is an ancient casino card game, and it’s simple to play. If you know how to play blackjack, you will remember that players need to make a total as close to 21 as possible.

Baccarat is similar, but the total needed to win is that closest to 9. It doesn’t mean you have to bet on your hand, simply that you bet on whichever hand will win. You can place your bets on the bank hand, the player hand or a tie. Now, as a lot of cards exceed the number 9, these are discounted. They are used and drawn as usual, but the face cards and the 10s or count as zero. Ace can only be counted as one. You often see it as a game in films and movies when the casino is used as a backdrop.

Craps is another casino game that not everybody understands, and it is also often overlooked, making it slightly more unusual. Craps is a dice game, and Friends fans may remember it is the game played by Chandler and Monica in Las Vegas to determine whether they should get married while they are there.

Old School Retro

Just because we no longer have some of the older style computers, retro gaming has not disappeared altogether. Pacman has become such an iconic game that you can now play anytime you like by simply typing Pacman into Google. You will be rewarded with a game board where you can chase around eating all the dots with ghosts in hot pursuit around the Google logo. It is certainly not the only retro game available, and Google enjoys hiding games for players to find. The Dinosaur T Rex game is known as an Easter egg game because it’s hidden on the page that gets displayed if you have no Internet connection. It works on the Chrome web browser and has the advantage of being able to be played offline. It’s pretty basic, but it certainly helps pass the time of day until your Internet connectivity is restored.

The Wiki Game

Have you heard of the Wiki Game? This is the perfect game if you’re trying to avoid doing something in the office but need to look busy. Simply go to thewikigame.com, and you can join the fun. You will be given a starting page and a target page both within Wikipedia. The rules are straightforward; you must get from one page to the other as fast as possible. But here comes the twist. To do that, you can only click a link inside the page you start on, which will take you to another Wikipedia page, and you can click on a link there, and so on and so forth until you reach the destination page. The winner is the person who can do it in the least clicks possible. Now before you go and give this a try because let’s face it, it does sound like a load of fun, at least finish reading the article!

Geoguesser

If you have the travel bug but can’t afford to be constantly on holiday and still want to explore the world, then Geoguesser could be the game for you. When you sign up to play, you will be randomly dropped, virtually, of course, in a location anywhere in the world. The aim of the game is to figure out as quickly as possible where you are by using the landscape around you as your clues. Again, this is another excellent way to procrastinate your way through the working day. It’s actually a lot of fun, and it’s prevalent but slightly unusual because not so many people know about it when compared to something like Fortnite or Minecraft.

The Impossible Quiz

Finally, if you want to give your brain a workout, why not try the Impossible Quiz. Of course, you won’t win; it’s designed to be utterly ridiculous, unpredictable and illogical, but it is a lot of fun, and you’re likely to spend many a pleasant hour trying to figure out what on earth the answer is and why.
