Oscar Isaac may have been promoting his upcoming Netflix movie Triple Frontier, but the talented actor also was expressing what video game-turned-film he would like to be a part of, along with his co-stars Pedro Pascal, Ben Affleck, Garret Hedlund, and Charlie Hunnam. According to Isaac, he’d like to play Snake from the Hideo Kojima classic Metal Gear Solid.
“Metal Gear Solid, that’s the one. I’m throwing my hat in for that one.”
While this may have just been an actor expressing interest, Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) is set to direct a Metal Gear movie and apparently, Isaac has been suggested for the role previously, as talented artist BossLogic has imagined the actor in the role in a previous Twitter post.
THIS-MUSING-IS-NOT-NEWS-PSA:
To everyone asking how I feel about Oscar Isaac saying he wants to be Solid Snake.
The full process required to cast an icon hasn’t even started, but..
Ask @Bosslogic where the idea for his brilliant mock up came from.

Isaac then dove in further as to why video game movies haven’t built up the traction that superhero movies have:
“With the video game thing, I think the trick will be how do you replicate the feeling of what it feels like to play a video game. I think where it goes wrong often is with the plots.”
Ben Affleck, who up until recently was playing Batman in the DCEU, responded: “That’s because you can’t play a movie.”
To which Isaac countered back:
“I know, but how do you get some of that feelings of what it feels like?”
