Fans of the MCU Avengers films are pretty darn pick about their games based on them. Not only about what stories are told, and how the gameplay is presented. But also about how their favorite heroes appear. This is especially true now that Marvel has established their particular stamp on what each character should look like. With that in mind, if they do not look like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, or Mark Ruffalo, they are somehow subpar. At least that is what Troy Baker, who voices the Bruce Banner character in the game has found. In a recent appearance at Manchester ComicCon, he expressed his frustration:
We’ll always be on someone’s shit list, right? So when they launched the latest trailer and put it out there, the immediate backlash from fans was, ‘It doesn’t look like Chris Evans! It doesn’t look like Robert Downey Jr!’ Well, you know who it does look like? It looks exactly like Iron Man. It looks exactly like Captain America. It looks exactly like Bruce Banner. There is nothing we will ever be able to do that will top what you saw in the MCU.
Is it important for you as a game player that the Avengers characters resemble their MCU counterparts? Perhaps gameplay is more important to you? Share your thoughts about Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers with us at GeekVibesNation.
