True Detective Reveals Season Three’s Premiere Date in New Teaser

Fans of HBO’s True Detective and Mahershala Ali will be happy to know that the date for season three has just been released in a new teaser. Starting out the year on January 13th, we’ll follow Wayne Hays (Ali) as it seems a case from the past was so powerful that it has impacted him after all these years. We’ll see him in his younger and older years and if you watch the trailer you can see the case will have something to do with abducted children, which could affect even the strongest stomachs.

Season three is following more of a season one theme, focusing more on one person’s story, as opposed to having a bigger ensemble. Nic Pizzolatto, the series creator; will be writing all eight episodes, as well as directing three of them. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are not returning for season three, but both are credited as executive producers.

True Detective season three will also bring on Deborah Ayorinde (Becca Hays), Jodi Balfour (Lori), Lonnie Chavis (Young Freddy Burns), Ray Fisher (older Freddy Burns), Josh Hopkins (Jim Dobkins), Carmen Ejogo (Amelia Reardon), Scoot McNairy (Tom), Mamie Gummer (Lucy Purcell), Rhys Wakefield, Michael Greyeyes, Brandon Flynn, Emily Nelson, Michael Graziadei, and Jon Tenney.

Are you excited about the new season of True Detective? Catch it on HBO January 13, 2019!
