Shadow Wars: The Elusive Kinji Fukasaku Collection (1975 – 1977) Blu-ray Collector’s Edition

    Street Date: April 8, 2026

A DVD and Blu-ray collector’s set of Japanese crime films, featuring movie cases, discs, posters, and postcards arranged in a display.Synopsis: From the master of postwar chaos comes a blistering triptych of crime, corruption, and collapse. After the success of Battles Without Honor and Humanity (1973–74), Fukasaku continued to refine his “jitsuroku” (true record) approach; a semi-documentary style of yakuza film inspired by real events, police files, and newspaper reportage. These three titles, COPS VS THUGS, CROSS THE RUBICON!, and HOKURIKU PROXY WAR, all extend that gritty realism: handheld camerawork, frenetic editing, overlapping dialogue, and moral murk. They turn away from romanticized gangsters toward a chaotic, corrupt Japan of the 1960s-70s where cops, crooks, and politicians are virtually indistinguishable.

    Bonus Materials

Only Available from the Umbrella webstore, the SHADOW WARS Collector’s Edition includes:

    • 48-page book of behind-the-scenes material and essays by Brian Streussnig, Mark Schilling and David Michael Brown

    District 13: 2 Film Collection (2004, 2009) Blu-ray Collector’s Edition

    Street Date: April 8, 2026

A Blu-ray set of "District 13" films, including two discs, illustrated covers, character art cards, and posters featuring action scenes and dynamic parkour imagery.Synopsis: Behind Paris’s fortified walls lies District 13, a sealed-off world of fractured alliances, brutal survival, and lawless rule. When danger inside the district threatens to ignite into full-scale chaos, two men – one from the streets, one from the state – are forced into an uneasy partnership, racing across rooftops and through crumbling towers to stop catastrophe before it spills beyond the walls.

From Writer/Producer Luc Besson (Taken, Wasabi, Taxi) comes one of the most influential action duologies of its era; two films that redefined stunt work for a new generation. DISTRICT 13 (BANLIEUE 13) and DISTRICT 13: ULTIMATUM (BANLIEUE 13: ULTIMATUM) plunge viewers into a sealed-off district where social decay, political schemes, and pulse-pounding chases collide at breakneck speed. Out There By Toei Boxset (1978- 2007) Collector’s Edition

    Street Date: May 6, 2026

Box set with Blu-ray cases, discs, posters, cards, and booklets featuring sci-fi and horror movie artwork and Japanese text.Synopsis: Spanning nearly three decades, this electrifying boxset showcases the fearless imagination and genre-shaping legacy of Japanese powerhouse TOEI. From cosmic spectacle to punk-inflected revenge to uncanny body horror, these films trace a lineage of excess, invention, and cultural bite that only TOEI could deliver. Together, these films form a vivid portrait of TOEI’s genre-bending bravado, unapologetically stylish, often confrontational, and endlessly inventive, capturing the studio’s enduring commitment to pushing popular cinema to its most extreme and exhilarating edges.

Kinji Fukasaku’s A MESSAGE FROM SPACE (1978) launches the set in operatic fashion: a wildly ambitious sci-fi epic that fuses space opera with samurai myth, international star power, and the director’s trademark intensity.

Nearly thirty years later, in YO-YO GIRL COP (2006) Kenta Fukasaku brings that rebellious energy crashing into the 21st century, reinventing the schoolgirl action film with pop-punk attitude, kinetic violence, and a weaponised yo-yo at its center.

From there, descend into the uncanny with EXTE: HAIR EXTENSIONS (2007), a uniquely Japanese strain of modern horror in which beauty culture and bodily obsession intertwine with chilling consequences.

Finally, X-CROSS (2007) explodes into brutal, neon-lit survival horror, as a group of women stumble into a nightmare of sadism, vengeance, and feral resistance deep in the forest.

    Bonus Materials

Only Available from the Umbrella webstore, the OUT THERE BY TOEI Collector’s Edition includes:
