Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing the satirical comedy The American Society of Magical Negroes on Digital on May 3, and on Blu-Ray and DVD on May 14, 2024. The film is directed, written and produced by Kobi Libii (“Madam Secretary”) and stars Justice Smith (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu), David Alan Grier (The Color Purple), An-Li Bogan (After Yang), Drew Tarver (“The Other Two”), Michaela Watkins (You Hurt My Feelings), Rupert Friend (Asteroid City), and Nicole Byer (“Rugrats”).
The film will be making its streaming premiere exclusively on Peacock beginning on May 3rd. Synopsis: THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MAGICAL NEGROES is a fresh, satirical comedy about a young man, Aren, who is recruited into a secret society of magical Black people who dedicate their lives to a cause of utmost importance: making white people’s lives easier.
