Upcoming Halo TV Show Compared to HBO’s Game of Thrones

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”20000″ img_size=”620×348″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Pablo Schreiber has been cast as Master Chief in the upcoming Halo television show. You have two sides of the spectrum here. Those who are wary of a live-action adaptation of this well-known video game franchise, and those who might actually be interested in it due to the casting. Such as myself.

The Halo television series may have added another layer to the excitement, as it seems that those behind the show look to bring it to the level of HBO’s Game of Thrones. 343 transmedia boss Kiki Wolfkill spoke with The Game Maker’s Notebook podcast (H/T Gamespot) who answered [when asked how the show will compare to other series in the medium]:

“It’s hard to find an analog. We talk about Game of Thrones a lot in terms of scope and scale and complexity of relationships. A lot of the background of Halo is this sort of political drama. It’s something that [is mentioned] really lightly in the games… Some of that [Game of Thrones] complexity is interesting.”

We should expect some epic battle scenes, gorgeous visuals, and huge surprises. Wolfkill did go on to reveal, though; the one thing that Halo TV and Game of Thrones won’t have in common:

“[No incest]. If you’re looking for that, you won’t find it here.”

What do you think of Halo’s upcoming live-action television series?
