‘VENOM’ Might Not Be The Link To Other Spider-Man Spin-Off Films

Just like the confusing timelines in the X-Men universe, Sony’s Spider-verse is ultimately confusing on whether or not Spider-Man is involved. Or if we can even count it as a part of the MCU. On top of this, Tom Hardy’s upcoming Venom movie may not actually serve as the focal point of this extended universe Sony is trying to create. Eddie Brock may not even appear in future films such as Silver & Black and Morbius.

A rep from Sony told Syfy Wire when asked if  Venom would connect the other films: “Not necessarily, [Venom] is a standalone film but there will be key points of intersection that connect it with other films.”

I remember when we were first told that there was going to be a Venom movie to begin with and at the time, these other projects weren’t yet announced. It’s not necessary per say that Eddie Brock is in all the upcoming films, but as far as the direction Sony is going in, it does seem a little cloudy. Either way, after the latest Venom trailer, I’m sure plenty of us will be heading to the theaters October 5th of this year.
