Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing the Oscar-winning comedy American Fiction on Blu-Ray and DVD on June 18, 2024. The film is currently available on Digital platforms. Written for the screen and directed by Academy Award winner Cord Jefferson (TV’s “Watchmen”), the film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Score, and winning for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The film stars Academy Award nominee Jeffrey Wright (“The Batman”), Tracee Ellis Ross (TV’s “Blackish”), John Ortiz (“The Fast and Furious” films), Erika Alexander (TV’s “Living Single”), Leslie Uggams (The “Deadpool” films), Keith David (“Nope”), Adam Brody (TV’s “The O.C.”) with Issa Rae (TV’s “Insecure), and Academy Award nominee Sterling K. Synopsis: American Fiction is Cord Jefferson’s hilarious directorial debut, which confronts our culture’s obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.
